The Storytelling Space Group is a multi-disciplinary research group originating at MIT and the Pontifical University of Chile dedicated to storytelling and world-building's application to architectural and urban design. The group facilitates collaboration between architects, urbanists, authors, psychologists, scenario planners, artists, geographers, and historians to conduct research, symposia, and workshops around the globe. We are driven by the big challenges that face civilization today and are excited by the role that storytelling and design can play in addressing them.

Storytelling presents unique capacities to contribute to world-building and allows design of the built world and its infrastructure to arrive at novel solutions. Our interdisciplinary model of working has allowed us to arrive at innovative methods and processes. We have refined and taught our methods for undergraduate and graduate students of literature, design, and architecture at workshops around the world.

At the end of the day, we want to tell better stories and see better worlds.
